Meta Muse Launches in Singapore: Is Meta Muse Available in India Yet?
Meta Muse just picked its first stop in Asia, and it wasn’t India. On October 30, Meta switched on its Muse AI agent in Singapore, wired straight into Shopee, Grab, Lazada, Agoda and Singapore Airlines. So the obvious question for anyone reading this in Mumbai or Delhi is the one in our headline: is Meta Muse available in India yet? Short answer, no. The longer answer is more interesting.
We’ve been watching Muse since its US debut in September. Here is what it actually does, what changed with Singapore, and what the India picture looks like right now.
First, what Muse is (and why it isn’t just another chatbot)
Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent. You don’t ask it questions so much as hand it jobs. Meta’s own launch post, published September 8, describes an assistant that can send emails, book travel, fill in forms and make purchases on your behalf, and that keeps working in the background after you close the app. It runs on what Meta calls Muse Secure VM, a dedicated cloud computer with its own browser, so the agent can open websites and click through them the way you would.
You talk to it like you’d message a friend, either in the Muse app or inside WhatsApp. Meta says Muse checks with you before anything sensitive, such as sending an email or paying for something. Payments go through Link by Stripe, which creates a one-time card so your real card number stays hidden.
That’s the pitch. The reality, as Reuters reported at launch, came with internal worries at Meta about how the agent handles sensitive personal data. Keep that in the back of your mind.
Meta Muse in Singapore: what’s actually new
According to TNGlobal’s report on the launch, Singapore is Muse’s first announced market in the Asia-Pacific region. The headline change is local “connectors”, direct links into apps people there already use every day:
- Shopping: Shopee and Lazada for comparing products, ShopBack for cashback and dining offers.
- Food and errands: Grab, for groceries and restaurant plans.
- Travel: Singapore Airlines, Agoda, Klook and Trip.com.
These sit on top of Muse’s existing links to Gmail, Google Calendar and Instagram. Meta also cautioned that connector features will roll out in stages, so not every user will see every trick on day one. It’s on iOS, Android and the web at muse.ai. Support for Meta’s AI glasses is promised, with no date.
This matters more than it sounds. In the US, Muse leaned on global services. Singapore is the first time Meta has plugged it into a regional shopping and travel ecosystem. That’s the template India would need.
Is Meta Muse available in India?
Not yet. Muse launched in the US on September 8 and reached Canada on September 18. Singapore is now the third market. Meta has not announced an India launch date, a waitlist, or even a rough timeline.
Gadgets Now checked the Indian App Store in late September and found no Muse listing, even though the older Meta AI app has been available here since 2024. Meta’s rules also say you need to be in a country where Muse is offered. Its terms let it suspend Meta accounts linked to Muse use that breaks those rules. So we’d skip the VPN hacks you’ll see floating around. Risking your Instagram or WhatsApp account for an early look at an agent isn’t a good trade.
Then there’s money. Muse’s paid plans, Power at $20 a month and Max at $100 a month, are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. With no Indian listing, an Indian account simply has nothing to buy.
What an India launch would need
Look at the Singapore list again and swap in Indian names. The value of Muse there comes from Grab and Shopee. Here, it would have to talk to apps like Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, Flipkart, IRCTC and MakeMyTrip, and none of those partnerships exists today as far as anyone has announced.
The bigger hurdle is payments. Muse checks out with Link by Stripe cards. Most Indians pay with UPI, and UPI has its own rules for who can start a transaction and how. An agent that can’t pay by UPI would feel half-finished here. Solving that is a regulatory conversation, not a quick software update.
And India is WhatsApp’s biggest market. If Meta brings Muse here, the WhatsApp route alone could put an AI agent in front of more people than any launch so far. That’s exactly why we’d expect Meta to take its time and get it right.
How much does Meta Muse cost?
Muse is free for basic use with a usage limit that refills over time. Meta hasn’t published the size of that free allowance. For heavier use there are two plans:
- Power: $20 a month (about ₹1,900, going by Gadgets Now’s conversion).
- Max: $100 a month (about ₹9,500).
No rupee pricing exists because there’s no Indian launch. If Muse does arrive, expect local pricing rather than a straight conversion. That’s how Indian app pricing usually works.
Our take
We like the idea more than we trust it, at least for now.
An agent that turns a saved recipe Reel into a grocery order is clever. One that books your flight and texts you only when it needs a yes is the dream every tech company has been selling for a decade. Muse looks like one of the first serious attempts at it from a company with billions of users.
But the security claims haven’t been independently tested at scale, as TNGlobal points out, and nobody has spelled out who is responsible when the agent books the wrong date or buys the wrong size. Those answers matter more than any feature list. If you’re in India, the waiting period isn’t a loss. Let Singapore and the US find the bugs.
